This blog expresses my own subjective opinions and not necessarily those of my employer, my friends, my country, or you. As such, feel free to disagree and post a comment. This particularly applies to my ratings for games and the likes, where stars are given out as follows:

  • stars 0 Disclaimer – This sucks! So bad that I’ll probably never give 0 stars.

  • stars 2 Disclaimer – Still pretty bad, but bearable
  • stars 3 Disclaimer – Average or slightly better

Statistics, Spam and Privacy

Speaking of comments, I reserve the right to delete spam as I see fit, even if it’s handcrafted. I will attempt to not delete your however opinionated comments as long as they’re on topic, even if they lack arguments. I will however try to delete insulting, racist or otherwise inappropriate comments (“try” as in, “give my best to catch them in time”). Nevertheless, the opinions expressed in those comments are not mine and I therefore don’t assume liability for them wherever possible under current law.

On the other hand, I will not sell or otherwise give out your email address or other personal information unless I’m legally forced to do so.

I do use the anti spam plugin Akismet. The great thing about Akismet is that it’s distributed and uses world wide spam data for its analysis, thus catches spam way sooner than other plugins. But, in order to do so, it needs that world wide spam data – and this means that some contents of your comments are transmitted to the Akismet servers and are subject to their privacy policy in addition to mine.

My host is gathering some anonymous statistics (as any host does) about your visits. Those include your IP address, your user agent, the referrer you came from, and what pages on haslo.ch you visited. Additionally, I am using StatPress for some further statistics. No personally identifiable data beyond the IP address is stored or collected. Finally, some of my WordPress plugins use cookies to store trivial data.

I try not to use other people’s content without their permission. If you feel I’m alienating your copyrights anyway, please contact me before you sue me, I will take the content in question down if you successfully show me that it’s yours and my use of it goes beyond what I’m allowed to.

Both the server and me are Switzerland based, as such the place of venue is Berne, Switzerland as well.
