(Wohoo, pre-recorded post!) This is the first time I’m blogging a prototype before the whole minis series is painted – you can imagine how much I like how it turned out by that maybe :) Here’s my first painted Doom Mancubus:

By the way, I deactivated the Lightbox plugin – it broke the “Back” button, which nothing on a web page should do, ever.

Anyway, the skin here has first a dark brown base, then four (!) layers of drybrushing, another layer for the face, then a wash, and another layer for the face. I think it was worth it, though.

The weapons and backpack have a Boltgun Metal base, then two layers of black wash (to create the illusion of more details, as the model doesn’t have that many there), then a Boltgun Metal drybrush and finally some copper highlights. I didn’t want to paint the tubes in another (more screaming) color, as I like my Mancubi gritty.

The weapon’s muzzles finally were painted in a blueish grey and then drybrushed with white, plus a little highlight.

Oh, another note, all my images are available in a higher resolution on the Geek, too. If you feel like giving me a thumbs up there, you make me happy :P

(I will slow down with painting today and tomorrow, as I have this examn on Friday – wish me luck :P )
