I had a not completely un-horrible snowboarding accident a week ago, but I’m back home now (everything-OK-alarm, except for that big bag of painkillers and a couple broken bones) and will be online again in the next few days.
But I’ll take things slow 
Oh – never, never ever snowboard or ski without helmet or back protector. I was wearing them, and I wouldn’t want to know where I’d be now without.

Good thing you didn’t damage anything too important. There are tons of accidents and even fatal ones every year from people who don’t take the right precautions.
